The Melon Head was developed in-house based on the traditional helmets Australian cricket fans create by hollowing out watermelons. The product was used by Vodafone during the 2012/2013 Vodafone Summer of Cricket Australian international Series in stadiums across Australia.
Creative Hype handled the design of the helmets and production of 80,000 units working closely with the agency handling Vodafone’s Summer of Cricket promotions.
The product was a big hit with cricket fans across Australia. Powerful in-stadium activations were built around the Melon Heads, which engaged fans and were highly visible on television and across social media platforms.
